LA Day Camp – Ages 3 – 15

LA Day is our flagship camp! It is our most popular and the most “traditional” of our day camps. What sets us apart from other traditional day camps? Our LA Day campers choose their own adventures! Campers ages 5 – 15 decide what their time at camp looks like. Try something new, or spend more time on an activity you already love. Your camp is your own personal adventure full of fun!

LA Day is broken into 5 age levels and our elective options grow with our campers as they grow up at camp!  From arts and sports to STEM, cooking, baking and the outdoors; we have something for everyone.

Daily swim lessons are included for all PRESCHOOL (ages 3 & 4) and LOWER Campers (ages 5 & 6), and MIDDLE Campers (ages 7 & 8) are able to choose swim lessons as an elective.  Daily free swim is also an elective for Lower, Middle, Upper and Senior campers.

Preschool Camp (3 & 4 years old)

LA Day Preschool Camp is the perfect summer camp option for our youngest campers! Preschool campers get a taste of what it’s like to be a “big kid” at camp! With our low camper to staff ratios (3:1), a dedicated Preschool Camp Director, staff who are all college students or older and have backgrounds and experience in early childhood education, our campers safety and FUN are our top priorities! All preschool campers are lead through a variety of age-appropriate activities – from music and movement to arts and crafts, nature walks and science experiments, each day is an adventure at camp! Daily swim lessons with our dedicated pool staff of swim instructors and lifeguards are also part of each day! Included in each day is a morning snack and lunch! Families can sign up for 2 days, 3 days or all 5 days of camp each week. Preschool camp is an abbreviated day and runs from 9 AM – 2 PM, however an optional extended care program for Preschool campers is available until 4 p.m. (Advanced sign- up is required.)

Lower Camp (5 & 6 years old)

Lower camp is what our 5 & 6 year old campers call home. Lower Campers begin and end each day as a home base group. Here they build friendships, learn how to work as a team, and connect with their small group counselors. After a morning gathering and activity, Lower Campers have daily swim lessons in our outdoor pool with our dedicated swim staff of swim instructors and lifeguards. Lower campers also have 4 elective periods each day that they get to choose which activity they want to participate in. A sample of electives from last summer: Wacky Wellness, Playground Games, Lego Challenge, Silly Science, Mystery Art, Destination Imagination, Little Chefs, Diggin’ in Dino Land, Tiny Tumblers, Slime Galore, and more! DOUBLE THE FUN CAMPS

Double the Fun is just that – double the amount of Summer at LA fun!  Double the Fun camps allow a camper to dive deeper into an area that they love each morning, while also still enjoying our LA Day Camp.  At Double the Fun camps, about 3 hours of each day is spent in their specialty – ie:  Baking, Cooking, Nature & Orienteering, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, CSI, Summer Spa and more!  The remaining hours of the day are spent in their respective age groups in LA Day Camp. Campers select their afternoon electives and remain in those electives for the entire week. Free swim is always an options in the afternoon.

**Lower and Middle Campers who choose a Double the Fun camp, will NOT have swim lessons during that week of camp. We do offer before and after camp private and semi-private swim lessons if you still wish for your child to have a lesson that week.**

The Leadership Training Institute is a 4-week program for those interested in building skills to be used in life and camp- while taking part in the day to day life of Summer camp at Summer at Lawrence Academy.

LA STAYS

Our NEW overnight experience for ages 9 – 15

Do you ever wish your camp day experience could extend into the night time?

LA Stays is an immersive, whole-camp experience that does not end until your head hits the pillow in your on-campus dorm room! During the daytime, campers get to choose their own journey, and take part in a variety of activities with our day campers.  LA Stay campers choose a camp from the many different day camp offerings to attend during their day. The fun does not stop at 4:00 PM when day camp ends!  LA Stays allows that growth and fun to continue past the camp day! Evenings are spent with special events, off campus trips, camp wide talent show and more!

LA Stays is a culturally immersive experience with campers coming from around the world, around the US and locally. You’ll meet people of varying backgrounds, customs and beliefs – explore, debate and add your own views to the mix! Every moment of the day – whether during classes or free time, mealtime, evening events or dorm life – you’ll encounter world views that will stretch your own, and beliefs that will challenge how you think about people and ideas. All the while, you’ll be learning the nuances, slang, customs and habits of your new American and International friends (who are sure to be a part of your life for years to come!)

This summer, we are offering 4, 1-week sessions (Sunday – Saturday) of our LA Stays program. Campers are welcome to stay for more than 1 week by selecting and registering for each week they’d like to stay for.
